Why I use Cacao

So the big question is normally what's the difference between cacao and regular cocoa?

Well it's all in the processing - raw cacao is cold pressed without solvents so it retains it's nutrients. It has over 360% more antioxidants than regular cocoa, 14 times more antioxidants than red wine, 21 times more than green tea and 7 times more than dark chocolate! Cocoa however is roasted at high temperatures therefore reducing enzyme content and nutritional value.
It's also a source of phytonutrients - niacin, calcium, chromium, zinc, iron, copper, sulphur and potassium. AND is one of the best food sources of magnesium - the stress relieving, muscle relaxing mineral.
Cacao supports the heart and was referred to by Aztecs as 'heart blood'. It was also used by the Mayans and Aztecs instead of gold as money!
Cacao can also help boost your mood.
It's best used in smaller quantities and is delicious in smoothies, healthy milo, raw treats and snacks, and you can mix the cacao nibs in with your trail mixes.
